She Tears

"All the world just stopped tonight.
You say you don't want to stay together anymore.
Let me take a deep breath, babe...
And if you need me, me and Neil'll be
Hanging out with the Dream King"
~Tori Amos. "Tear in Your Hand"

She steers
She tears
She tears at my heart
Looking out the window at
Clear
Blue
Stars
Clutching at straws I stand
My ground
Trembles
I fall
I fall apart
A carefully placed tear
Cracks my whole foundation
I tumble through the car window into the
Clear
Blue
Stars
I watch her as she tears
Night. Rain. Rosewood.
Cracks
I watch her as she tears
When did this become
The Only Way Out
When did this loom
Inevitable
At the end of a long tunnel of doubt
She tears
Shouldn't I be in her place?
Shouldn't I be
Ripping.
Crying.
Running.
Riding?
